The Mabank Panthers Freshmen football team put up a valiant effort in tonight's game, narrowly falling to their opponents with a score of 14-12. The game showcased the hard work and determination of our young athletes, who played their hearts out from the first whistle to the last seconds on the clock.
Each player had their moments of brilliance, and the camaraderie built on the field will pave the way for future successes. A couple of the key players for the Panthers tonight were #20 Brody Carter and #88 Angel Lara.
Behind his team, Brody Carter was able to have quite a few spectacular runs, and found himself in the end zone twice. Not to mention Carter led the team in solo tackles on defense.
The 'jack of all trades' Angel Lara, had a pivotal deep onside kick that led to a Panthers touchdown. Lara also anchored the defense and played some key roles on the offensive side of the ball.
Sure, the sting of a close loss is tough, but it’s part of the game and a stepping stone toward greater achievements.
Looking ahead, the Panthers will take this experience to heart as they prepare for their next challenge. Every game is an opportunity to improve, and the Panthers will look to do so when they host the Henderson Lions next Thursday at Panther Stadium.
Come out and support your Mabank Panthers!
