Lady Panthers Find Success at Regional Meet, Advance one to State

The Lady Panthers Varsity Track and Field team competed in the 4A Region 2 Championships at the University of North Texas this past weekend. The team exhibited monumental success placing 8th out of 32 teams. The Lady Panthers broke three school records, and advanced one athlete to the State Meet.

Junior, Trista Etheridge, is the Regional Champion in the 800m and 1600m races. She broke her own 800 meter record via a smart race and a stellar kick. The record now stands at 2:16.84. She will be competing at the State Track Meet in Austin on May 2nd. Way to go and good luck to Trista!

Freshman, Cian Wicks-Ashley, breaks the school record in the 200 meter dash with a season best 25.53.

The 4x400 was comprised of Maddie Glover, Kendal Woods, Cian Wicks-Ashley, and Trista Etheridge. They placed 6th out of 16 teams and set a new school record with an impressive time of 4:04.65.

Other athletes that competed this weekend and displayed outstanding efforts are:

Kendal Woods, 5th in High Jump (tying the current school record), finals 300-meter hurdles.
Felicity Torres, 4th in the 1600-meter run
Adelaide Murphy, 800-meter race and 1600-meter run
Ember Larson, 4x200 meter relay
Cian Wicks-Ashley, 4x200 meter relay
Maddie Glover, 4x200 meter relay
Kai Hudson, 4x200 meter relay
